STI - importing from Japan

Fairly sure car is running well and he was getting sorted before Xmas to sell it.

this is what I was looking at to buy but not buying now till later in the year
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...m-twinscroll-low-milege----------2006/1821750
10k sterling is about 12100 at todays exchange and vrt is less than 2000 euro I used a spec c on the vrt site as I don't know the chassis code and presume the spec c would be the most expensive
https://www.ros.ie/evrt-enquiry/vrtenquiry.html?execution=e1s3
personally I think it should be jdm they are the best fact !!!!!!!!!! 400 for a remap on 95,and 500 to go and get it 15000 for a 2006 jdm sti on the road .

just rang my mate to ask him
he sold his type uk sti blob wide track 2005 in silver
with a api engine fitted after she went bang that had only 6k miles on it when fitted by api as recommended by ken c back then (cheers again Ken )
he did 8k miles after and he traded it in and was given 5.5k for it (i know i should have bought it but i just figured that was its worth :banghead)
with the speedo reading 82k miles
1 owner previous full history
sti blob wide track ppp
running 340 bhp
with 370 torque
Just shows how you get lubed on the other end :puke3:

He bought it here originally http://www.ktc-supercars.co.uk/keighley_sports_and_performance.php

Sickening

I can't remember that at all Colm..

It's no wonder it popped coming from Keighley trade centre, they have a real bad rep

Yeah so my last "conclusion" of this thread did not really conclude it as it turns out

Thanks for all the feedback on the hurst car. I am going to walk away from it, obviously I jumped the gun, but well all the excitement... must control ... myself :banghead:

I am actually not in a hurry so I will wait for a good opportunity. In the meantime I am also in contact with some of the members that advised me / were mentioned here on this thread.

And obviously if you know of anything good - please do let me know / post away.

Yeah he was saying they where a trade no warranty place allright
he had two evos and another scoob out off there too
but to be fair it was mint as in never crashed or anything and had all paperwork for ecutek map and stuff before
im not sue on the mechanicals but the body was completely original that i could tell
when it went bang i posted on here and you said go to api
so he went there and they had a engine with 6k on it
he bought that and had the fit it and a set of speedlines to the ones that look like the prodrive pff7 or whatever bought off them too and a front lip
drove it another 6 months and got back probably 1500 more than it cost to have the work done :icon_hang:
replaced with a 530d
hated it and moved that on
now looking at maybe a hatch or hawk as he has the itch again ya know yourself

15000 for a 2006 jdm sti on the road .
[/quote]

that seems expensive for a 2006 considering what i paid for my car 4 years ago , not much more really ,
15k should buy you an irish or uk widetrack blob or hawk and have enough left over for a forged motor sitting in there , is the jdm worth nearly a third more than its irish or uk cousins , imo NO , to many unknowns unless you can get japanese auction report an can read jap ,
if i had the op's budget id buy the rb320 ken is selling .

That car was imported New by Hendry cars in UK and has a fully UK history and I have say I would have problem giving fifteen for it . It's twice the car of a UK spec

What makes it twice the car Dec , i am just not getting what the jdm has over a edm car ? i actually prefer the sound of a edm car over a jdm .

It's not just the 2.0 it's everything about them power delivery, rev range the handling lads on here are always banging on about the classic Impreza being a more raw drive and all that. drive a jdm newage at full tilt and you will see what raw is their the closest road car to being a group n rally car, not the watered down EU friendly edm car we get in UK and Ireland that's just my own personal opinion

I got to take the 04 with DCCD I linked to earlier for a spin. Other than the loss of burbble they're savage yokes to go. DCCD is some craic!

Have to agree +1.

I test drove a totally standard jap blob with DCCD before I bought mine, only difference I noticed was the noise, for everyday driving can't say I thought there was a difference, I suppose the differences probably would be more noticeable when on track, or in comparison to totally standard Uk car which I never test drove.

I don't agree, what can be the difference dec, in parts???

Obviously the 2.0 likes to rev but it sounds like everyother car on the road
The 2.5 doesn't like to rev but makes up for it with its torque, also sounds like a Subaru should.

No it's not, uk is dave, it's very easy to just say it dave

But I'm only going to agree when I see the facts??
