What did you do to your car today?

Don't take offence Richie! My comment was towards the spiralling effect the forum can take rather than any fault on your part!
I had dealings with you a few years ago when you were one of the traders on this forum and was always happy with your business!

Peace!

Ha ha sorry man i took you up wrong, yeah a bit of a snowball effect, thanks for the good feedback about previous dealings.

Hopefully do business again!

For sure! I actually wondered where/why you disappeared! What is the best way to check your current offer?

Finally decided to be arsed and change over my plates, drive into NCT centre and get my cert. Tester comes out and says "Ya must love takin' tints off lad!".

I remember when Brian sold me the car, it needed a retest because the sidelight was loose. I went to Finglas and your man came out to the car park and wiggled the indicator on the passenger wing. "Yeh, doesn't look loose to me."

Printed off the cert and then copped the brakes and asked could I show him if the brakes are any good on the road just in front.

I think the car still looks strange without the light tints but if they think it's a safety issue, that comes first. Does make you wonder though.

Note: the NCT manual says that the glass in the front side windows needs to have a "visible light transmission of 65% or more". This means a max loss of 35% - or if you want to be safe about it 32% as the manual says that the test equipment only has to be accurate within 3%.

Mind that many windows already have some tint in them... so get your class tested before you go out and buy "35%" tint as the total might be higher. The hawk has 10% with nothing on it afaik for example.

Clears that up, thanks.
