Nearly sure they were 1.6 super and turbo charged. Around 170bhp.
EDIT: you are right, 1.4 it was
Was driving one with 7speed dsg gearbox. Nice toy, but new one 1.8 192 is completely different game. Better suspension and overall feel. Really nice one.
Looking forward to get ride on Leon cupra...

There 1.8 Turbo now with direct and indirect injection same as Polo Gti

Last year they were Tsi 1.4 same as the Fabia Vrs

True. Thing is they had that audio boost system built in and noise that you were hearing at cabin, was like it is supercharged.
Anyway, nice toys.
But in my opinion good on track but not as fail drive. First 3 gears it is losing grip regardless of what rpms you are on. New tires every month or two :)

Always thought I should feel free to share my opinion, but those days I am afraid to do so.
When trying to put there one, suddenly someone trying to prove me that I am idiot...
Anyway, type R in my opinion looks very good for what it is, way better in flesh than on photos.
Not going to argue about being able to drive... Or not. No point

I wasn't allowed drive it when I went and looked at it in kildare...I was told it was going back to the UK and a test drive wouldn't be possible

I wasn't allowed to drive that one either. This one was for sale, but demo car is coming soon to that dealer...

The ridiculous power through the front wheels which is grand on a bone dry track but completely unusable in the real world

Graham in regards of proving me idiot, not personally and it was generalized. For a good while, most of times when I am publishing my opinion, others trying to prove me wrong, but tell me how you can be wrong on your own opinion?

You'll only get a test drive if you're serious about buying it or can prove you can afford it.

Or be mates with one of the boyos in the dealers. Have to laugh when you catch wind that someone in parts was promising Anto and the boys he can organise a test drive in it for them. :roll:

**** sake I never said a word and I'm dragged into it lol .

Actually seen the type r in bray . Nicer than the red one for sure but not a good looking car in my opinion
