You could get a really mean asshole in the tax office that wont approve it until the exact date of manufacture. Which if its December you'd have to wait until December of 2027 to get the cheaper tax. I've heard stories of that happening. Other people go in in January and no issues regardless of the date of manufacture. Just depends on who you get at the counter.

Mine was Jan of the year was 30. First need to wait till date of manufacture.

Logbook only states the year of manufacture only. The rest is" date of registration" or "date of first licensing in Ireland"

Think mine was built/registered late 96 but they didn’t ask for it and once was Jan they allowed it to be vintage. No questions about any dates of manufacture or such.

Post the forms and current log book in January, they'll either ignore the date on the logbook and register it as vintage or they'll post back your log book and tell you to re apply on the date on the logbook..

NCT passed today on the Type R. Silly me didn't put the rubber anti slip pads on the pedals because I was sure they'd find something to fail it on anyway. I was wrong! That was it, just a visual for the pedal rubber. Not bad for a home built Blobeye conversion.
Drove home, put the rubber on the pedals (damn near broke 3 fingers doing it) back to the center for a pass cert. 12 years from stuffing it into a wall in Rome, time waster, parts and money gone, stress, sleepless nights, worry, the bodyshop saga oh boy the bodyshop saga LOL.....it all came flooding back as I drove out of the test center. Had a lump in my throat.
