What did you do to your car today?

Omg listen to that. Left car at garage to investigate root of issue I had.
Problem is massive and I have threer options, spend 2-3k on parts, sell car or last one which I will Take I think.
Starting from beggining computer was showing plenty of errors ob throttle/pedal sensor., full range of problems. Drove me crazy yesterday In middle of nowhere that I was stuck with no tools or proper GSM signal to get any help. With screaming kid st car. Car went into limp mode and was unable to drive it normaly. No response from throttle at all. Tried to disconnect all cables from any controler, even disconnected battery, but no joy.
Anyway, I managed to get back home at limp mode. Took 2h to make 10km...
Garage investigated whole thing, here is result: air valves and pump are misbehaving for a while now, clearing errors every now and then, there is no cure for it as it is hitachi ecu and noone know how to disable it? Becouse of that fault, there is plenty condensation happening inside of them. Air valve 2 was stuck on that way, that all of that moisture went not back to exhaust but thru cable harnes. Nearest plug is on Throttle Position Sensor and all of connectors there becouse of moisture were rusty. So solutions are, repair whole system and have warranty on parts and labour 2-3k euro, sell car (I like it regardles of grief I have with it), or remove whole system, buy blanking plates and live with Fecking error on dashboard as noone know how to turn it off at ecu.
Now, anyone here with experience with blanks? Do I need to just remove valves and blank them or is there anything else?
And, what my mechanic said (castle garage at Bray), that if you have system on place but disabled, condensation is still building inside of those valves and it need to go somewhere.
Just as warning to whoever have it, to check valves and pump and dry them just not to cause same issue that I had.
Anyway, was very stressfull day yesterday, causing traffic jam with screaming little one at back of a car.
Guys cleaned rust, put some grease on electronic parts, but left me with air valve disconnected not to cause same issue In near future. So I am mobile, car is drivable and I have great response from throttle now, but need to get it sorted...
Thats my story, if you are still reading, Congratulations, it is end :-D

There is enough parts on used market to sort your issue for lot less then 2-3k.
As said as main dealer. Everything new. No comebacks. Spend 3k. But can slove second hand parts. Will they give greif again. Yes. But could be years away.

Air system is giving errors fir last year or so.
I know Dave that you can get used parts, but who is going to guarantee even a month?

Totally de-sticker ex windscreen , yeah all of them
Getting roof vane spoiler sprayed and re fitted

Got an oil cap off good old eBay ,

There has been a few of the 2.0 sport impreza giving the same problems on here . Wasn't zeikio and adrians doing the very same . Surely if there is 3 on here now with same issue there is more doing the same and it must be a fault in the system and subaru ireland should have a remidy other than 3k worth of plastic parts that will more than likely fail also infuture.subaru reliability must be questioned here

Very slow progress, but finally a bit of primer on the wagon! Pillars, two wings, two quarters, bumpers and skirts all getting a doing!

The car went for a bit of TLC today to have some dents removed. I knew of 6 around the car but turned out there was actually 16 all together. Another job off the list now, next is to see about getting some stone chips on the bonnet and scratches on the bumper sorted out.

Great stuff Mark is there anyone who can sort paint chips and scratching without painting the full bonnet

I'm not too sure to be honest Keith. I'm off on Friday so I'm going to go around a few places and see what they can offer. Being honest, the chips on the bonnet are not that noticeable unless you stand looking at it so if I can get the bumper sorted then I'd be happy enough with that for the time being.

What kind of money and who did the work? (Pm if you prefer)
My car has one or 2 small ones I noticed probably from carpark wankers!!

It surely was, Tommy.
I got mine done in Finnegan's and they told me it was the third car they had done that month...
I have to say though, when those air valve error codes come up, you need to act fairly swiftly. In my case, it started with one valve but because it had taken me a number of months to get it sorted, I ended up having to replace both valves and the compressor. If I hadn't waited as long, I might not have had to replace all that except only the first valve that gave the error.
Similar to what przemcio007 has said, in my car the condensation from the fault in the first valve ruined the other valve and also the compressor. I guess I'm lucky it didn't do more damage like what przemcio007 has seen.
I tried to get the parts second hand but I couldn't find any. The part numbers are different on a turbo as well (afaik) so you need to get it from a NA car. That was only last year but I see there is a good few hawk NA wagons and saloons for sale on done deal now......so they must not be as rare as I had thought...and so would give some hope of picking up the valves second hand.
Of course, as has been said, the valves you buy second hand may not last a week or may be duds already but could also do the trick for a few years. It's a chance you'll just have to take if you go second hand.

I had a spare couple of hours so I said I'd do a job on my old rear shocks that I removed from the car a while back. The new ones have been knocking a bit .
Anyway I split the shocks and fitted grease nipples and reassembled them. All that remains is to pump them full of grease and fit them when I can get a quiet time in the garage.
What is the best grease to use?
