What I did to my car today - SAVED HER!
Moved the Hawk... in a bit of a panic - but did beat the record for connecting a battery!
Long story below- else skip to two bad pics from phone at the end.
Maebh says: Honey, we have no more water.
Me: Really??
(we have a well... it has never run dry... it is winter... of course we have water I think)
Maebh: Yes really, can you see what is wrong.
Off I go to the shed plant room where all the "water and heating stuff" is located.
First thing I notice... it is snowing - a lot.
I think - cool... snow... fun in Scooby tomorrow...
yuk... cold and wet (rushed out without coat).
Established a earth leakage trip switch is gone, but after unplugging everything, it still trips and won't reset.
Start a walk around the shed and yard in case there is an outside power point I was not aware off (only in the house 10 months). Yikes... water... a lot of it... no shortage of water... not good.
What was a tiny little stream with about 3 inches of water in it and about a foot wide... is now more than 2 foot deep and 3 foot across... and wild... More over, it is not able to take all the water coming off the hill... and the yard is flooded --- AH... found the trip switch issue... Bio-tank is kind of under water. Back to shed, pull fuse... yes earth leak trip reset successful... Sign of relief as the water pumps start back up and the boiler.
10 seconds of peace and I smile...
Tomorrow... Scooby... Snow... Fun...
2 more seconds...
... euhhh... water... a lot of water... in the yard...
... Hawk parked in yard... next to stream...
... Two very wet feet later... yes... established... deffo REALLY need to move the Hawk...and quickly... water gaining rapidly.
Darn... get key from lock box in house... Get 10mm spanner from shed (Battery disconnected to prevent drain)...
Connect battery - fast - FKUC
- Water up to my ankles... and it is COLD.
Hawk Moved to Safety
Where she was previously (hard to see but Hawk was at bottom left and water there about ankle deep... top across is stream and about 2 foot deep. Yard beside shed about 1/2 acre and flooded 6-8 inches.
