LISBON TREATY VOTE NO

The fact were voting again is a joke and its costing the country money, we said no already whats next best of 5 or rock paper scissors,
the government were bullied into a second vote not to mention the fact they will be benifiting from it themselves, europe are not offering
a second chance because they care, they need us to vote yes its less hassel, and if we vote no its fook us not how you expect freinds to treat you,
we fought for the freedom of this country why just hand it to the eu, as soon as we do we are open for anything they decide witch includes taxes
and will affect wages and many other things, the government has sold this as more in our favour than last time but not one thing has changed
in the treaty they sugar coted it to fool us, i would rather have a say than be dictated by europe, it would be like the scottish parlament not able
to piss without english approval, we have been there once lets not go back, ps i think its the first time ive had the need to use :hjtwofinger:
but its justified

We are simply safer as part of a bigger family, Pooling our resources,
If Germany were to end up running us, so be it, They have the most successful economy in Europe,
We can and will be Europian, and still Irish, Same as I am Irish but I'm also a kildare man!
What ever you vote, the safe and prosperous future for our country and our kids has to be our Priority
That's Defo a YES vote!
A no vote will just piss off our big influencial freinds, further isolating our small island!

A huge chunk of irish wealth is american investment with computer and pharmaceutical companies.

So if we go back to the celtic tiger? This was created by how? Answer increase in wealth through massive increase in jobs.

Wat were these jobs? they were as above? so not eu created. the wealth above jobs brought equaled people wanting houses. Houses equals massive construction etc etc.

These american companies were attracted here by low coperate tax. Wat is majority of these companies already e.u. companies.?? feck all.

So above comments of YES vote silly as the money came from outside eu. Don't get me wrong it will still stay in eu by moves to poland etc but that has nothing to do with ireland.

So for above i'm a NO vote for second time round.

its a no for me 2nd time round also. Could the cunts not listen to us first time round rather than spending more tax payers money on a 2nd vote

Obama has already stated that he will be making sure American companys invest in America, and not little Tax free havens like our selves.

I hate to say it but nobody really gives a fu*k about us. Amd why should they? What have we got to offer? We need Europe!

We'll still have them.

Although yes agree prob a bit pissed off. Ha Ha.

This is not a vote of stay in europe or exit europe!

dave could you please tell me who provided the funding for infrastructure to attract these multinationals :dontknow:
wetpatch has also made a very valid point
you know what we dont need anybody sure we will milk our own cows and make millions of aron sweaters
that will keep the country going after all we have a masive internal marketplace :icon_rolleyes:

Take a look at who is hanging the NO vote campaign signs up , Sinn Feinn , Declan Ganleys crowd and socialists ,

If they had there way we may as well be living in a communist state or worse ,

Ireland needs europe no matter what , for god sake how has everything been funded over here ,

Were in a bad way now and if a no vote is carried again were worse off ,

As above,
Obama is keen to repatriate american businesses bach to the USA,
So lets stick with our closest neighours!
Also worth noting, See how the USA recover from financial difficulties, Twin towers (the financial sector) gets destroyed and they bounce back and can afford to wage a war all this time since!
That's the kind of strength that comes with unity and solidarity!
United States of Europe wouldn't be to bad,
Texans still have a very strong sence of identity, but they are also Americans! We can Be Irish, and Europian

i dont like the spin that is being put on by the yes campaign....

this is not a vote as to whether we stay or leave the eu,

on the second point about funding as ive said a few posts back, we have given away more money by allowing the eu to fish our waters then we have taken from the eu.

its true that this is not a vote on whether we stay in the EU or not. it is a vote on amendments that will affect Europe as a whole. But what happens if a small Island on the western coast of Europe can prevent the other much larger countries progressing with development? what will happen is that a new community will be established, a new Eu if you want and Ireland will not be a part of it. Ireland will be the only country left in the EU and screwed. It might sound a bit ridiculous but is it impossible??? i think so.
Its better to be 10% of something rather than 100% of nothing.

the irish government have made a balls of things...by letting a yes vote go through they will just turn around and say " it wasnt our fault" we had nothing to do with it..

fair enough europe has given money for roads and what ever..... but did we really need all these roads....there is plenty of roads in ireland that could have been just repaired...thus creating jobs for irish people

who was workin all the new roads......they werent irish anyway.... no offence to non irish here...

and thats another thing unless you are a foreigner in this country you are bolloxed.... they are first in line for everything....the social welfare line and if there is a job going they are more than likely going to get over an irish person... claiming child benefit for their kids when there not even the country....

:iamwithstupid: :iamwithstupid: :iamwithstupid:

Whats this thread got to do with immigrants???? Something goes wrong in Ireland, blame the foreigners :icon_rolleyes: I suppose its the immigrants that have come to Ireland that are responsible for the global recession too, is it?? Jobs were plentiful here in the good times and we needed a lot of immigrants to do the jobs that a lot of Irish people thought they were too good for, and any foreigner that is collecting his/her dole money is obviously perfectly entitled to it because they have paid their taxes :hjtwofinger:

And we did need roads upgraded FFS... Improving infastructure is the way to grow an ecomony,

We'd be a third world country by now if we weren't in the EU, there's no way we'd be better off on our own

Exactly Sweetcakes. Well said.

There are plenty of Irish people who have emmigrated to Australia etc. It has to work both ways..

Ireland would be nowhere without the backing of the EU. Voting no to the lisbon treaty out of protest against the government is ridiculous.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, the Americans are pulling back in foreign investments/work in order to get their economy back up to speed, so we cannot rely on them to support us.
We as a nation are not in a position to be able to hold our own if not part of a larger group.

I think this is what is going to happen. If the government wants yes the people will say "screw them/its there fault we are in this mess etc etc etc" and a no vote will prevail.

As the non-irish citizen I agree with that. They should be more restrictive in giving out public money. On the other hand saying that 'they are first in line for everything' is a way way exaggeration. ;)

Sorry scoobyjoe, but yes.. Ireland needed all these roads.. because as far as I know before there were no roads at all.
Europe pumped enough money to create this celtic tiger and everyone was happy as the jobs were available for everyone.
Now after the recession strike.. there has to be someone to be blamed for, right?

Have been living in this country for over 5 years now and working since very beginning as the IT professional.

It was ok to have a cheap and efficient employee from Eastern Europe then.. now it's time to say good bye to them :) Am I correct here?

The truth is.. Ireland needs Europe. Vote YES. :)
